Regional School Wellness

The new program will be coordinated under direction of the WVDE, Office of Child Nutrition and RESA. The students in West Virginia schools come from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances. Fuel Up to play 60 is a program founded by the National Diary Council and NFL, in collaboration with USDA, that empowers students to take charge in making small everyday changes at school. Students can win cool prizes, like an NFL player visit or Super Bowl tickets, for choosing good-for-you foods and getting active for at least 60 minues every day. We want kids to make a difference not only in their lives, but also in their community.
Team Nutrition is an initiative of the USDA Food and Nutrition Service to support Child Nutrition Programs through training and technical assistance for foodservice, nutrition education for children and their caregivers, and school andcommunity support for healthy eating and physical activity.

Action for Healthy Kids fights childhood obesity, undernourishment and physical inactivity by helping schools become healthier places so kids can live healthier lives. We partner with a legion of dedicated volunteers - teachers, students, moms, dads, school wellness experts and more - from within the ranks of our 60,000+ network to create healthful school changes. After all, everyone has a part to play in ending the nation's childhood obesity epidemic.
WV Action for Healthy Kids is dedicated to improving children's nutrition and physical activity in schools and communities. Action for Healthy Kids strives to fight childhood obesity and undernourishment by partnering with local schools to improve overall nutrition and physical activity in the school and community.
